Fonnbu has a central room that can be used for courses and events

Fonnbu is located in Grasdalen on the western side of Strynefjellet in alpine surroundings. The station is therefore well suited for courses and educational activities in high mountain activities, especially in winter conditions, but also throughout the year.

Fonnbu was rebuilt in a modernized version, completed in 2006, and has well-functional facilities.

Brief practical information about Fonnbu

  • approx. 15 beds
  • installed water and electricity
  • toilet/shower
  • everything you need for cooking/dining
  • dishwasher and washing machine
  • internet connection
  • meeting room with projector
  • wood-burning fireplace

Access

  • Summer: In the summer season, you can drive all the way up to the station, but on a road with tractor road standards. Otherwise, it is about 7-800 m to walk, and there is good parking down by the main road.
  • Winter: Access from the national road to Fonnbu can be difficult in the winter, as the access road is prone to avalanches. It is approx. 7-800 m from the car park by the main road (RV15) up to Fonnbu. It will be necessary to use skis with traps, snowshoes or snowmobiles/tracked ATVs.
