3D modelling of rock slope

To make room for a new double track on the Vestfold line, a steep rock slope close to the existing rail line must be adjusted by blasting. NGI has made a 3D rock model of the rock slope.

Stasjon Korsvägen, Västlänken

In connection with constructing an eight-kilometer new railway line for commuter and regional trains, just over six kilometers will go in a tunnel under the center of Gothenburg.

The Sogn–Ulven Tunnel Project

Together with AF Gruppen (contractor), Statnett is currently building a tunnel for new cable interconnectors between Sogn and Ulven substations in Oslo. NGI and Norconsult are responsible for daily tunnel follow-up and engineering geological assessments during the construction phase. NGI holds the technical responsibility for pre-grouting and rock support.

Government Building Complex on alum shale

The building site in Regjeringskvartalet, the Government Building Complex, consists mainly of alum shale and other black clay shales. In addition to the planning and follow-up of groundwork for tunnel and excavation pits for the new complex, NGI's work has included sampling, analysis and characterization of acidified rock masses.

New Government Quarter

NGI has been responsible for the groundwork, responsible RIG (responsible consultant for geotechnical engineering) for the first part of the new Government Quarter in Oslo. NGI was sub-consultant to Rambøll from preliminary project to completed design and tender documentation for construction work.
