Wang (38) originally comes from Andøya in Vesterålen. She holds a degree in Business Economics from the Bodø Graduate School of Business and a master's degree in International and European Politics from the University of Edinburgh.

The position as Head of HR and Organizational Development entails overall responsibility for both the strategic and operational aspects delivered by the department, as well as developing the HR function to meet new and future needs at NGI. The position reports to the Director of Strategic Development.

-We offered the position to Karina as, throughout the recruitment process, we found her to be knowledgeable, strategic, focused on creating value and meeting operational and strategic needs, and she has experience and methodology in organizational development. Additionally, and perhaps most importantly, she asked good questions and dared to challenge both me and the management team on what NGI is and needs in the future, says Anne Kibsgaard, Director of Strategic Development.

Extensive experience as a consultant

Wang has worked in the consulting industry for 14 years at Accenture, Deloitte, and Implement Consulting Group. Along the way, she has held various leadership roles for projects, clients, and areas within organizational development, HR, and management. She has also worked for over two years as an HR manager at Akershus University Hospital.

-I believe that working with HR is one of the most important aspects in any organization. It involves ensuring that you know the type of people you need, being able to attract the right individuals, and creating an environment where they can succeed in their jobs. So far, I have been very well received, and I look forward to getting to know NGI better and working here, says Karina Wang, the new HR leader.
