NGI to Open Office in London, Strengthening Commitment to Offshore Renewables
NGI will open a new office in London at the beginning of 2026.

“Opening our London office reinforces NGI’s commitment to a sustainable future on safe ground, driving offshore renewables development and accelerating the global energy transition,” says Lars Andresen, CEO at NGI
NGI’s largest market for offshore wind
The UK is one of NGI’s largest markets for offshore renewables and a global hub for offshore wind development. According to Thomas Langford, Director of Offshore Energy at NG, establishing a local presence will allow NGI to work more closely with partners and play a stronger role in shaping the future of sustainable energy: “Being present in London will help us deepen collaboration with both industry and academia, and ensure that NGI’s expertise contributes where it is most needed in the offshore renewables sector.”
Decades of offshore expertise
For decades, NGI has been at the forefront of offshore geotechnical research and innovation. The expertise at NGI ranges from seabed surveys and foundation design to monitoring and risk management – always with the goal of enabling safe, cost-efficient, and sustainable energy production.
First hires for NGI in the UK
The London office will initially consist of 4–6 employees, and recruitment has now started. NGI is seeking engineers with professional experience in offshore energy projects – ideally involving site investigation, foundation design, geotechnical analysis, or verification of offshore structures.
In addition, NGI is seeking a manager to lead the new London office. As Langford puts it: “This is a unique opportunity to shape NGI’s footprint in the UK and support cutting-edge offshore energy solutions.”
The exact office location has not yet been decided, but will be announced closer to launch.
