WP1 Co-Design
Added value of user centered design, framing risk and uncertainty, user insights and needs. The first step in moving from information to service is a co-design process with users.
Within the framework of user-centered design, the needs, wants, and limitations of a potential product or service are placed at the forefront. The main difference from other product design philosophies is that user-centered design tries to optimize the product around how users can, want, or need to use the product, rather than forcing the users to change their behavior to accommodate the product.
In the context of user-driven provision knowledge for understanding climate change and its impacts, this means framing risks and uncertainties within communities to identify the scope of these challenges.
Objectives
- To frame a common understanding of the challenges associated with risk and uncertainty within the communities and identify the scope of these challenges
- To define the types of climate services needed within each community
- To determine the actors to be involved within the Living Lab process and the actors impacted by climate services
- To determine guiding principles & design requirements for subsequent phases of the Living Labs
Activities
Activities include basic research (literature reviews ) and applied research (Setting up Phase 1 of the Living Labs).
- Task 1.1 Develop initial guiding principles and design requirements the Living Labs, including literature review of other Living lab processes (Responsible: SGI and other partners)
- Task 1.2 Identification of stakeholders within each living labs (all partners)
- Task 1.3 Developing common framework for risk and uncertainty in each Living Lab (all partners)
- Task 1.4 Identify the needs of climate services in each Living Lab (all partners)
