NGI | Emma's ground control
Emma Pooley is a world class Triathlete and professional cyclist. When she is not training or competing around the World, Emma works as a consultant for NGI, and rarely says no to a decent cup of tea!
On these pages, you will be able to follow Emma on her adventures, reading her travelogues from her travels, competitions and projects.
Emma Jane Pooley was born in London in 1982, raised in Norwich and graduated from Cambridge University with a first class degree in Engineering. She completed her Doctorate of Science in geotechnical engineering at ETH in Switzerland in 2013, where she still lives. Besides her time-consuming career as a professional cyclist and triathlon athlete, Emma utilises her PhD working part-time as a geotechnical consultant for NGI.
Her serious and committed approach to both sports and geotechnical solutions makes Emma an obvious representative and ambassador for NGI, and we are proud to have her as a colleague. Everyone at NGI in Oslo, Trondheim, Houston and Perth are crossing our fingers for Emma. We all cheer her on in reaching her goals, whether they are medals at the Olympics, a first place at international triathlon events or carefully created analysis of a geotechnical challenge for one of our customers and partners around the world.
We at NGI are proud sponsors of Emma in 2017 and 2018!
